I noticed a few great ideas on how to reuse books. Here are a few things I found.
Which in my eyes are great Ideas and let me tell you why.....
I know everyone freaks when they hear about books being destroyed. BUT if you have a book that has been ruined by water, ripped, no cover these idea's are a way to give the book new life. I'd rather do something as this then toss the book.

When I take a shower get ready in the mornings, I open the blinds in the bathroom and don't turn on the light until I get ready to do my makeup. I'm also huge on recycling! If you've never read "Sleeping Naked is Green" by Vanessa Farquharson, you definitely should. It's a really funny book and it's full of great ideas! emilyjoymitchell at gmail dot com.
I hang my clothes outside to dry instead of using the dryer.

Wow...wonderful ideas! I should add to the list of "things that happen to books" two words....NEW PUPPY. Yeah, let's just say the ones they got a hold of that day, didn't really survive. Cie la vie! Good luck with the contest! ^_^

I recycle all plastic, aluminum, cardboard and paper. Turn lights and fans off when not in rooms. I don't buy bottled water anymore. We use a Brita filer and a stainless steel water bottles...
I walk/carpool/take the bus whenever possible instead of driving and recycle to live green.
Such wonderful ideas! I pay bills electronically, use reusable shopping bags at stores and use energy saving light bulbs :)

My parents own an organic food business, so we aways eat organic which is great for us and also makes it so less pesticides and harmful toxins are released into the earth or air! Also, we ALWAYS bring our own bags shopping, especially when grocery shopping. And of course, I reduce, reuse, recycle! (but who doesn't?)

I try to only use reusable bags when I'm shopping - you should see the looks on the faces of the checkers at Target when I insist on using my Trader Joe tote bags. I recycle as much paper and plastic as I can. I drink filtered tap water rather than bottled water. We own a Prius and drive it almost exclusively. I also use public transit to get to work.
I use reusable shopping bags, low energy bulbs, minimize water use when brushing my teeth and washing dishes, and carpool to work.

I reuse grocery bags and I always turn off the lights I not using. Plus, we installed a new a/c unit and water heater that is more efficient. This may seem silly but instead of writing down appointments, etc. I email myself the info so I have it handy and I'm not wasting paper. I think any little thing can help.

I try to use recyled products whenever possible, use energy saving bulbs, use mostly rechargable batteries, keep water running to a minimal, and use the resuable bags more often when shopping. Also have opted for the big bottles/jugs of water with reusable containers for 90% of the water purhased we use.

Thanks for the contest! I'm a big fan of using the energy efficient light bulbs and my roommate and I recycle.
I really try to live green by buying natural and organic whenever I can. I try to steer clear of chemicals in food, cleaners, and beauty products. Of course, there are exceptions. I definitely donate ALL of the books that I want to get rid of, no trashing them. I also donate clothes, etc to goodwill, etc.
I use compact flourescent bulbs and cloth shopping bags.

I use e-statements, pay electronically, hang out clothes to dry. Wash stuff in cold water. I donate books, when I'm willing to give one up, and love the card holder idea!

I turn off lights when I'm not using them, I don't use air conditioning most of the time, and I unplug electronics when I'm not using them.
