Weekend Question?
Is there an Author that you enjoy not for the genre they write but because their style of writing fits you?
I enjoy a good romance, but it isn't my favorite. When I first read Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing I fell in love. She doesn't over do the descriptions and gets to the point with out over doing it. I don't care if she were to write a grocer store ads I'd still read it.

I feel that way about Lionel Shriver. Though I do enjoy the genre that she writes, her last book took on a more preachy tone than I was used to, but I still enjoyed every second of it because she used her trademark wit and style in it's execution. This was a great question today, Liz!
I agree with Sherrilyn Kenyon, she seriously could write boring tax proposals I would read them :).
She is my all time fave author and a must buy for me. Can't wait to read Retribution.
One author that I go back to time and again for the sheer joy of reading her stories is Donna Kauffman, she has fun energetic and steamy romance reads for just about everyone's taste...
Of course I also agree with you and Donna Liz, Kenyon could write copy for a toothpaste ad or whatever and would still read it!
Oh good question! Definitely Debbie Macomber. For her I step out of my favorite genres.
Definitely Cassandra Clare or Maggie Stiefvater. Cassandra Clare is just so dang snarky and Maggie's writing is absolutely beautiful.

I'd say Holly Black though I haven't read her Modern Faerie series yet.
I like Cassandra Clare, though normally I can't take much romance. Sometimes the sappy gets to me just a little bit, but mostly I love the Mortal Instruments series. Great question. :)
Just on writing style along I would say Brandon Sanderson, though I love the plot lines to his books as well. But really, no matter what the genre, if it has his name on it I will read it!
Tough one, but I guess Jacqueline Winspear cos I am not a bit mystery fan but I like her style
Melissa Marr for me. She writes the Wicked Lovely series - fantasy/faery world. There is something about her writing that makes me want to read about the faery world. Not a normal occurrence for me.
I too am not a romance fan, but when Chistina Skye writes anything in the Draycott Abbey series I have to read it--they are addicting. I also seem to love anything Janet Evanovich writes solo. Even though her latest novels in the Stephanie Plum series have gotten a bit predictable, I still enjoy the way she writes--they are relaxing reads.
You know I just don't think of it that way. I guess that is because I will read almost anything. I have not liked the story but loved the way the author has written the book. That has actually happened a couple of times. lol
Awwww, I forgot to participate last week. Darn! Anyway, I completely agree with you on Sherrilyn Kenyon, she's such an amazing writer! I think my pick would be Kelley Armstrong; her writing just flows and sucks me into the stories. I don't think it would matter what genre she was writing about, I would enjoy it!
